Meet the Speaker: Anna Hammarberg, Investment Cooperation Manager at Business Sweden
With only weeks to go until Europe’s leading location intelligence seminar, Geo Business, we are delighted to introduce readers to another one of our key speakers, Anna Hammarberg.
Anna will be taking to the Geo Business stage in Amsterdam on Tuesday 17th March, to talk about how her work attracts and facilitates international investment to Sweden. Read on to discover more about Anna, what makes her tick, and her thoughts about this year’s event.
Anna, thank you for joining us! How would you describe your role?
I work as a business developer and am responsible for the collaboration with Swedish regional investment promotion agencies and other partnerships. Our organisation helps Swedish companies grow global sales and international companies to invest and expand in Sweden. We do that by helping companies to find and evaluate opportunities and provide the information, advice and networks required to support their decision-making and business establishment process.
Data is vital for us and while previously we had data sitting there in Excel sheets, we now have an interactive mapping tool that make our work more efficient. Today we can visualise data and opportunities and we’re able to share and analyse more detailed layers about the market, different industry sectors, sites and the supporting infrastructure. It helps our clients make better decisions which, ultimately, help drive economic and community growth for Sweden.
What do you especially enjoy about your work at Business Sweden?
There are many things! For one I get to work with companies from all over the world, from many diverse sectors. And I get to meet so many people from government officials to planners on the ground. It’s a really diversified and stimulating job with a higher purpose.
I have always been curious and enjoy finding new ways to improve how we work and discover better processes with digital tools. I’ve been responsible for the new interactive mapping tools and, as one part of my role, I am responsible for working with Swedish regional investment agencies and help them showcase their advantages and assets. So, for example they can now create local maps to present their regions and available sites and it’s very rewarding to help them to develop.
What will attendees learn from you at Geo Business?
Most importantly I think will be how we are continuing to find new ways and ideas of how to visualise data, how to showcase business opportunities and industry sectors. I’m looking forward to introducing our new site selection tool – which we are just about to launch - for companies looking for new sites and expand operations in Sweden and show how location intelligence gives Business Sweden real competitive advantage.
Are there any speakers you are looking forward to hearing from?
There are so many to learn from and I’m keen to find out how others are using location intelligence. While retail has always been of interest to me, it will be exciting to learn how people from all sectors are using location intelligence to drive growth.
Thank you, Anna! Anna Hammarberg along with all other speakers and panel participants will be available to meet at the seminar’s Speed Network Session. To check out the agenda and find out more, please click here.
